French DJ and producer HUGEL, who has been dominating global dance floors with his signature Latin and Afro House grooves, has crowned his 21-year musical journey with his highly anticipated debut studio album, “Twenty One,” released on June 26th via his own imprint, Make The Girls Dance Records.
BERLIN — HUGEL, the mastermind behind massive global hits like “I Adore You” and “Morenita,” is opening a brand-new, mature chapter in his career. Exactly 21 years after he first mixed vinyl records in his bedroom in Marseille, the accomplished artist has immortalized this long and passionate journey into a massive 16-track project. Described by the artist as a “sonic self-portrait,” “Twenty One” immediately began climbing to the top of the dance music charts upon its release.
The album flawlessly blends tech house, Afro pop, Latin house, and modern dance/pop elements, instantly transporting listeners to the sun-drenched shores of the Mediterranean and Ibiza.
A Star-Studded Affair with Industry Giants
For his first studio album, HUGEL didn’t limit his production boundaries to his own signature sound; instead, he brought together some of the heaviest hitters in the music industry. The collaboration list reads like a roll call of royalty. Moving seamlessly across genres, the album features rap icons Big Sean and YoungBoy Never Broke Again, dance music pioneer David Guetta, R&B vocalist Roy Woods, and the rising voice of Latin music, Barbara Doza.
“I put everything I have into this. The sounds I grew up with, the cultures that shaped me, and every emotion I felt along the way are in this album,” HUGEL shared in an emotional statement. “To stand alongside people on this record whom I looked up to as a kid is a surreal feeling.”
The Chart-Topping Lead Single: “Movin’ To The Sun”
The momentum for the album was initially ignited by the lead single “Movin’ To The Sun,” a collaboration with the legendary vocalist Ultra Naté and Imael Angel. First premiered by HUGEL during his acclaimed Coachella 2026 set, the track’s minimalist aesthetic and hypnotic Afro-house rhythms quickly propelled it to #1 on the Beatport charts, becoming one of the most Shazamed tracks globally. With the full album release, other standouts like “Body Drop” featuring Big Sean & Scott Storch and “One Night” with French Montana are already locked in as new club favorites.
A Global Tour En Route
Following his triumph at Coachella and highly sought-after club residencies in Las Vegas, HUGEL is preparing to take the energy of this album worldwide with his global summer tour, aptly named “Movin’ To The Sun.”
“Twenty One” breaks away from conventional electronic dance music formulas to deliver something more organic, atmospheric, and timeless. It stands as a bold blueprint and an instant summer classic for 2026.
